Meanwhile, the post-credits scene depicts the return of Mark Strong’s Dr Sivana, the villain from the first Shazam! movie who’s now in jail with scrawlings all over his cell.
We previously saw him there in the mid-credits scene for the first movie, when he was visited by Mister Mind, an alien worm. In the comics, he’s a supervillain who is one of Shazam’s biggest enemies and the leader of the Monster Society of Evil.
In this Shazam! Fury of the Gods scene, he returns to talk with Dr Sivana, who now has a full-grown beard. This time the talking insect shares that he still needs more time. Although will any of this pay off given DC’s upcoming reboot?
After all, the DCEU, with the likes of Henry Cavill’s Superman, Ben Affleck’s Batman and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is coming to a close.
