Shoppers praise Amazon’s ‘cheaper alternative to Birkenstocks’ that ‘go with everything’

With the weather in the UK set to warm up, summery items could be making a comeback.

A good pair of sandals are essential for comfortable walking on city breaks, holidays and in warmer weather, although they’re just as handy for wearing around the house and garden.

While expensive brands like Birkenstock are popular because they combine style and comfort, the prices range from £60 to over £130, which is not affordable for many, especially as they can’t be worn all year.

Luckily, shoppers have found an alternative, which they are comparing to Birkenstocks, but for under £30.

Available to buy on Amazon, the Oncai sandals are currently discounted, but they have been going in and out of stock, so it’s worth being quick to pick up a pair.

The sandals come in a choice of 10 different colours, and are the bestselling shoes in Amazon’s slide-on sandal section.

The design features two straps with buckles and a flatform shape which is strikingly similar to Birkenstocks, although it’s worth keeping in mind that some reviews do mention that the material does not actually feature real suede.

The adjustable aspect allows the shoes to be perfectly fitted, and the customer feedback suggests they are true to size.

Thick cork soles and a cushioned footbed help to add comfort, while the slip-on design is ideal for hot summer days, allowing the feet to breathe and withstand high temperatures.

Shoppers are reviewing the sandals, with over 500 people leaving their feedback on Amazon.

I bought them for a trip to Rome and walked 8 miles a day in them, for the price I honestly expected them to break by now but they’re still going strong! I did get a blister on the top of my foot where the strap was rubbing in first use but was fine after a few uses and the strap has softened over time. They are great every day sandals, comfy, true to size and stylish, they go with everything. 10/10 would recommend!!”
