Snow White’s Rachel Zegler says she deserves to be paid ‘every hour’ new movie’s streamed | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Rachel Zegler has become one of the latest rising stars to join the SAG-AFTRA strike fight as she spoke out during a rally in New York City.

Zegler, who is playing Snow White in Disney’s live-action remake of the 1937 film, sent a stern message while speaking to news outlets on the ground.

The actress defiantly demanded to be “paid for every hour” her upcoming movie is streamed online.

She told Entertainment Tonight: “If I’m going to stand there 18 hours in a dress of an iconic Disney princess, I deserve to be paid for every hour that it is streamed online.”

Zegler’s message comes after Disney was slammed for casting tall actors as ‘dwarves’ in the live-action Snow White remake.

The remake of the classic fairytale is currently in production and pictures published from the set show the seven dwarfs replaced with actors from various backgrounds, genders and races.

Speaking on the change, Piers Morgan slammed the casting saying the film was “pandering to the permanently offended”.

During an episode of Talk TV’s Piers Morgan Uncensored, the broadcaster said: “The people who have really suffered in all this are the six dwarf actors who would’ve expected to have roles in this remake.

“These are the most famous dwarf roles in Hollywood history, and the only people who can’t play them are dwarf actors!

Jackass star Jason Acuna also known as ‘Wee Man’ also commented on the casting saying he is “not agreeing with it” because they are “replacing jobs” in a role “for dwarfs”.

Dwarf wrestler Dylan Postl echoed these comments saying: “There are dwarf actors that dream to be in a major motion picture such as this Disney remake. These are roles made for actors of my stature I can’t go for the Harrison Ford or George Clooney roles.”

The remake appears to make several changes to the original film with Hispanic actress Rachel Zegler cast as Snow White.

The character of Prince Charming has also reportedly been removed to make Snow White a “stronger” character.

Piers Morgan added: “I’ve got no real issue with casting Rachel Zegler in the lead, although of course Snow White was called Snow White because her skin was as white as the snow – that’s why her mother called her that.”
