As we’re in full swing of spider mating season, you’re likely going to be seeing many more creepy bugs than usual around your home at the moment.
While some people have no issue with the eight-legged insects, many others freak out at the mere sight of them, especially in their homes.
But a TikToker, who goes by the @ceithgriffith, has detailed a hack that he guarantees will stop the creepy crawlies from coming into your home.
In the video, he asks his followers: “You guys want to know how to keep spiders from coming into your house and get rid of them?
“I’m going to show you how to do that.”

The TikTok user said it “only takes two things and is very simple, safe and non-toxic”.
Ceith went on to reveal the two affordable items needed to carry out the spider-banishing hack.
He said you will need 10 oz of water in a bottle and some cayenne red pepper.
Next, he said to take two tablespoons of the cayenne pepper and add to the water in the bottle then shake it up until it forms a red liquid.
After mixing the two ingredients together, he said the decant the liquid into a spray bottle.
“Take the mixture and spray around your window sills on the outside of your house,” he said.
He went on: “Make sure you spray around every window on the outside of your house, this will repel and prevent the spiders from coming into your house.”
Other tips to stop spiders from coming into your home include rubbing lemon peel all over the windowsills as the strong citrus smell is expected to repel them.
Another tip is to ensure all cracks and openings around windows and doors and tightly sealed.
But experts warn against harming the spiders and claim that they are very unlikely to inflict any real harm on humans.
Spider expert and enthusiast Dr Geoff Oxford honourary secretary of The British Arachnological Society said that just a dozen or so out of Britain’s 670 spider species have jaws powerful enough to break human skin and, potentially, inject venom.
But he stresses they’re not aggressive to humans, and will only attempt to bite as a last resort – and even then, most authenticated spider bites produce little or no reaction.
