Ever since James Gunn took over the DC Studios creative head role earlier this year, he has been working behind the scenes to deliver the next powerful step in the Superman franchise.
The last Superman film, Man Of Steel, hit cinemas back in 2013, and Gunn wants to change that. In the coming years, he is going to drop Superman: Legacy, the first step in the DC Universe’s next Justice League franchise.
Casting for Superman: Legacy is currently happening, according to Deadline, with some massive names in the running to take on the legendary roles of Superman and Lois Lane.
Gunn himself has spoken out about the casting process this weekend, as well. He wrote on his Twitter account: “For all of you asking, I would never comment on who is or isn’t AUDITIONING for a role. That’s the actor’s business only & isn’t something I’d make public unless they did it first after the fact (like @GlennHowerton or @ZacharyLevi having auditioned for Star-Lord & being top choices).”
He did add, however: “For now, only one person has been CAST in Superman: Legacy, and it isn’t any of the regular players in the Superman world.”
Until the official announcement of the cast comes, fans are left to speculate over the following names:
