Supermarket food prices are slashed in store at certain times every day

Speaking to Which, M&S revealed that times vary by store, but are likely to be near closing time.

According to their store finder, most branches close at 8pm or 9pm, Monday to Saturday and at 5pm on Sundays.

Aldi

The same closing time rule applies to Aldi stores too, so shoppers are in with the best chance of finding a bargain in the last hours before stores close.

In store, customers will find perishable items like bread, meat, fruit and vegetables marked down by either 30 percent or a staggering 75 percent.

This is done on the final day of the “display until” period.
