Tina Turner died on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, after a long illness, her representatives confirmed. The Queen of Rock and Roll was best known for her incredible voice, stage presence, and iconic songs that are still unbeatable hits to this day.
The 83-year-old crossed paths with a lot of massive stars throughout her life, but few had such an impact on her personally as the British rock legend Mick Jagger.
The frontman of the Rolling Stones and Tina connected in a profound way, as they were both incredible rock icons who were known for their bizarre and enchanting dance moves on the stage.
Although they were never officially together, Tina confessed she always felt something special towards the Satisfaction singer.
“I always had a crush on Mick Jagger,” Tina told The Guardian. “I loved when we toured with the Rolling Stones.”

The feeling may have been mutual, as well; when the pair played shows together there was a lot of flirting going on between them when they went on tour together over the years.
Tina revealed in her 2018 autobiography that one hilarious and passion-filled show ended with Mick ripping her skirt off her body.
“Mick and I could never just stand there and sing — that wasn’t us,” she wrote in Tina Turner: My Love Story. “We had to do something. He looked me over. I was wearing a tight-fitting black leather top and skirt and I could see a naughty idea forming.”
The pair were playing the Live Aid Festival in Philadelphia when Mick ended up acting on his impulses.
Mick slyly asked: “Does that skirt come off?”
A startled Tina replied: “What?!”
“I’m going to take your skirt off,” he smirked. Tina went on to describe: “I asked him why, but it was too late to talk it through, Mick had already made his mind up to do it.”
At the time in 1985, Tina wasn’t married to anyone, but Mick was still with Jerry Hall.
She added: “It wasn’t as if some random guy pulled off my skirt. It was like a boy I knew did it. A very old boy.”
Tina also confirmed in her memoir what happened between her, Mick and David Bowie: “We never slept together; and they never came on to me, because I think they saw me as a role model in some kind of way.”
After Tina’s death, Mick posted a photo of the star and paid her an emotional tribute.
He wrote: “I’m so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner. She was truly an enormously talented performer and singer. She was inspiring, warm, funny and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her.”
