Fans of the Spice Girls have enjoyed a few reunions over the years, with the first coming in 2007 for a short-lived 12 months of fun.
After that, they came back once again in 2012 for another year, hitting the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony.
Finally, the Spice Girls made their biggest reunion in 2018, and have continued promoting new work and shows. But Victoria Beckham has been notably absent throughout the process.
That is, until now. A new report from The Sun claims Posh Spice is keen to make her return in the coming months.
A source told the publication Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel Brown and Mel Chisholm have “provisionally agreed” 2024 tour dates, with Victoria also “bringing ideas to the table”.
The source went on to say: “For the past few years the Spice Girls have still been operating day-to-day as a four but, for the first time in a long time, Victoria is now chipping in and happy to celebrate a landmark 30 years of girl power.”
They added the five band members have been in “more contact” than ever before in the past six months.
And there are a couple of major reasons this is happening now: “Victoria will be 50 next year, and the [Spice Girls] turning 30 seems like two anniversaries too good to miss.”
However, there is some bad news to come with this information.
The source said there will be “no new music” coming from the band.
What’s more, Victoria reportedly has one major condition on playing live music once again.
“Victoria is adamant she doesn’t want to perform live unless for an incredibly exciting one-off opportunity,” the source said.
However, this “exciting one-off opportunity” could materialise in the form of a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival.
The five popstars have reportedly been “in talks” to headline Glastonbury in the coming years, and would “sit with Victoria’s ‘cool’ aesthetic”.
Even more exciting is the prospect of a documentary has also been floated, promising to show off never before seen behind the scenes footage, as well as new interviews from the band. This reported documentary does not yet have a home, however, but The Sun reports Netflix and Apple TV are eager to snap up the project.
