The Indiana Jones franchise is perhaps one of the best-loved film series of all time. And, considering it has made almost $2 billion at the box office over the years, it is also one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, as well.

Next month, on June 30, 2023, the fifth Indiana Jones movie starring Harrison Ford – The Dial of Destiny – will hit cinemas, bringing the franchise to a stark and definitive conclusion.

And, in order to get ready for the final movie in the series, Disney Plus has just cracked the whip on bringing every other Indy movie onto their expansive streaming service.

Thankfully, Disney has a way of watching all four of the movies without breaking the bank. Smart streamers can sign up for the annual subscription plan for Disney Plus for a discounted price of £79.90, saving them over £15. Scroll down to view the deal.

When will the Indiana Jones movies arrive on Disney Plus?

Disney will drop the four currently release Indiana Jones movies onto its streaming service, Disney Plus, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Disney traditionally uploads their new entries to the streaming service by 8am each day, so the Indiana Jones films will likely arrive at the same time. This means dedicated fans could watch a chunk of the entire filmography by midday.

This 8am release date is the same around the world, so viewers in the USA will be able to watch from midnight on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Oddly enough, this release date is also the same window that each of the films were released in cinemas. Raiders arrived on June 12, 1981, Temple of Doom hit cinemas May 23, 1984, The Last Crusade graced screens on May 24, 1989, and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull plagued box offices on May 22, 2008.

Which Indiana Jones films are coming to Disney Plus?

Disney has announced that all four Indiana Jones movies are hitting the streaming service on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

This means Ford fans will be able to settle in to watch Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Each of the films’ synopses are:

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

  • In this first instalment of the series, which was nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture and won four, archaeologist-adventurer Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is tasked by Army Intelligence to track down an invaluable staff that is the key to locating the Ark of the Covenant, which is being sought by the Nazis.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

  • After fleeing a nightclub shooting and being dropped out of an abandoned plane, Professor Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), singer Willie Scott (Kate Capshaw) and 12-year-old Short Round (Ke Huy Quan) find themselves in a starving Indian village who blame their plight on the loss of three mystical stones that have always brought the village prosperity. Jones vows to return the stolen rocks — which brings him and his unlikely cohorts face-to-face with a deadly cult.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

  • There’s nothing more exciting than trying to keep up with the Joneses in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Indy’s Nazi enemies are back and have kidnapped his father, Professor Henry Jones, Sr. (Sean Connery), in their effort to locate the sacred Holy Grail. Following a trail from America to Venice to the deserts of the Middle East, it’s up to Indy (Harrison Ford) to save his father, save the Grail and save the day in this non-stop, action-packed adventure the whole family will treasure.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

  • Famed archaeologist/adventurer Dr Henry Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is called back into action when he becomes entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artefacts known as the Crystal Skulls.

This is the first time Disney has had all four of the films on their streaming service all together at the same time, so fans should take advantage of them while they can before the next thrilling movie hits cinemas.

Speaking of which…

When is the release date of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is due to hit cinemas on June 30, 2023.

The highly-anticipated sequel – and finale – for the Indiana Jones franchise comes 15 years after the last Harrison Ford-led Indy movie, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The Dial of Destiny will be released exclusively in cinemas around the world, and will likely stay in picture houses for weeks after its initial release – so fans can watch Indy’s send-off to their heart’s content.

The thrilling synopsis of the film reads: “Daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones races against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change the course of history. Accompanied by his goddaughter, he soon finds himself squaring off against Jürgen Voller, a former Nazi who works for NASA.”

As described, Indiana Jones will be fighting through perils across decades as he battles Mads Mikkelsen’s Voller, alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is playing his goddaughter, Helena Shaw.

When will Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny come out on Disney Plus?

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny does not yet have an official release date for its Disney Plus debut.

Considering Lucasfilm – the production company that owns the series – is owned by Disney, however, the chances are very good that it will eventually hit Disney Plus.

And, considering how Disney’s most recent films have ended up on Disney Plus, chances are good that The Dial of Destiny will do the same.

Most recently, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hit the streaming service on May 17, 2023, exactly three months after its cinematic release on February 17, 2023.
