Why Meghan Markle is always caught ‘staring directly into cameras’

When Meghan Markle first stepped onto the scene as the woman dating Prince Harry, she was photographed wherever she went. Over the years, when attending public engagements and royal tours as a senior working member of the Royal Family, or now, when stepping out in California whilst doing some shopping or supporting her husband at the polo, the Duchess of Sussex is regularly caught looking directly into the camera’s lens. Express.co.uk spoke to Inbaal Honigman, a celebrity psychic and body language expert to find out why Meghan might do this.

Inbaal said: “Meghan’s tendency to stare directly at the cameras when she is being photographed, is only a natural extension of her habit of to maintaining eye contact with people she talks to.

“In terms of body language, direct eye contact shows a person who is attentive and happy to listen.

“It’s a mark of honesty and interest,” the expert added.

“When people look directly at their conversation partner, they are seen as more sociable and authentic.

“By the same token, looking directly at the camera, makes Meghan appear more focused and involved.

“She’s keeping an eye on what’s going on around her, and she’s on the ball and in charge of her surroundings,” Inbaal explained.

“Eye contact can make some people feel uneasy because it’s a show of confidence and fearlessness. Not everyone likes confident people!

“But Meghan’s fearless body language is necessary for her to keep herself and her family safe.

“Meghan’s fearless approach to life is fully represented in her astrological chart; born on August 4, 1981 at 4.46am in California, Meghan is a Leo, which is a proud and courageous sign.

“Those born under the sign of the Lion are confident and ambitious, as well as generous and sunny.

“Leos aren’t afraid of something as natural as eye contact! They face life head-on and prefer to look their foes in the eye, rather than hide away,” Inbaal revealed.

“In addition in her star chart, Meghan’s Mercury, planet of communication, is also in Leo, which means that she approaches conversations and interactions with others in a Leonine way.

“The confidence she exudes in everyday life is also present when she’s checking out those paparazzi by the side of the road.

“Many of her planets are actually very soft and kind – she has a lot of Libra and Cancer, signs that place family and children first. But when it comes to having her picture taken – direct eye contact is absolutely appropriate for her,” Inbaal said.

One stand-out moment when Meghan stared down the lens was on her wedding day; with millions watching all across the world, as she rode in her carriage away with her Prince, she couldn’t help but give one photographer a direct look.

Then, during her Australia tour that same year, there were several occasions when she was photographed looking head-on.

Fast forward to this year, when she was in the UK for a series of events following Queen Elizabeth’s death, Meghan was caught looking into a photographer’s camera.

Twice when she was carrying out the Windsor Castle walkabout with Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, the other at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
