Oprah coordinated an extravagant birthday present for Prince Harry, it’s been revealed in an interview on Reality TV show Stars on Mars.
The gift was mentioned during a televised conversation between cyclist Lance Armstrong and Iron Chef star Cat Cora, who claims she was asked to cook for the Duke of Sussex on his anniversary.
Going into more detail, Cora explained Oprah Winfrey had hired her to prepare the meal, adding: “One day I hear my phone ringing, and it was Oprah.
“She says ‘Cat, it’s Harry’s birthday and I need you to cook for them.” The eagre cook accepted the request, giving her just a few days to prepare for the task.
Cora talked about the evening after Armstrong asked her which famous names are in her contact list, though she did not discuss spcific details about the menu.
Admitting that the biggest A-name celebrity in her contacts is Oprah, she said: “Yeah, she’ll text me once in a while and ask if I can do something.
“Or I’ll text on her birthday and stuff like that.”
With only two days’ notice, the pressure was on for Cora to make a good impression, but the chef eventually struck a friendship with the royals.
“So I cooked for them and they’ve become buddies. They are really nice,” she added, to which Armstrong responded: “They are? Interesting.”
It comes as the Duke of Sussex will celebrate his 39th birthday next month, just days after Prince William completes his trip to New York.
The Prince of Wales will attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, where the 2023 finalists will be named soon after Harry’s birthday on September 15th.
Other events relating to the project are due to take place during William’s visit, but a meet-up between the two brothers is unlikely, given their deepening rift.
The last time they came face to face at the Late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022, they walked shoulder to shoulder for several processions.
Harry and William later attended the Coronation of Kind Charles in May but were not seated together, with Harry making a rapid exit after the ceremony.
