Big Smoke Festival fans, things just got real.
Skepta’s incredible annual festival, which is located in London’s Crystal Palace Park, is returning once again this year for 2024.
This time around, however, it will be taking place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the aforementioned Crystal Palace Park.
Although these details haven’t changed, the line-up has transformed entirely – for the better.
Skepta will, of course, be taking his place on the Big Smoke Stage as the main headliner, but he’s being joined throughout the day with some massive names, as well.
He’ll be playing alongside the likes of The Streets, JME, The Den and Flowdan, to name a few. On top of that, there are a number of DJ sets kicking off throughout the day on the Más Tiempo Stage, including Loco Dice, Uncle Waffles, Syreeta and many, many more.
However exciting this is, no one is more excited than Skepta himself. He said of the festival: “It’s good to give other people a space and platform to perform, and for us to step aside and let new talent come through. For me Big Smoke Festival is about building something and more doors opening.
“We’ve been thinking about what we can do to make a good festival and bring people together because right now everyone’s just on their phones, so how do we make people get off their phones and be immersed? Having a rap stage and a dance stage is setting us apart from everyone else, that’s our USP and I believe that this could be the London festival every summer.”
New headliner for the festival The Streets, also released a comment on what is to come from their slot at Big Smoke.
Front man Mike Skinner said: “It’s so good to be heading back down to South London for a festival with a line up like this. I’m sure this is just the beginning for Big Smoke so we’re all excited to be part of it at the outset.”
