Boots to close five branches from UK high streets in weeks – full list

Earlier this year the beauty retailer revealed that it would close 300 stores across the UK over a 12-month period.

Several Boots branches have disappeared from British high streets since the announcement in June, and more will go in a matter of weeks.

The retailer currently has more than 2,000 health and beauty stores across the UK and claims that an impressive 85 percent of the UK population is within 10 minutes of one of its branches.

However, this could soon change for shoppers with five brick-and-mortar sites expected to lock their doors for good in a fortnightly period, starting from the end of this month.

Speaking previously to Express.co.uk, a spokesperson for Boots claimed the move will allow the company to “concentrate” its 52,000 team members “where they are needed”, by optimising the number and format of its shops.

The list extends to a further two sites in the UK which will be scrapped later in October.

Affected locations include:

  • Glastonbury – closing on October 13
  • Gorleston, Great Yarmouth – closing in November
