Deadpool 3 release date up in the air after disappointing Disney update | Films | Entertainment

Deadpool 3 could suffer from delays after a released timetable indicates its premiere won’t be as expected, leaving Marvel fans disheartened.

The third instalment of the hilarious hero, portrayed by actor Ryan Reynolds, is set to be one to watch with the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Jennifer Garner as Elektra.

It will also be the first movie made under Marvel Studios rather than coming under the Fox/Marvel banner.

Disney, however, has released an updated movie schedule for the next few months and unfortunately, Deadpool 3 is nowhere to be seen.

The third film in the sub-franchise was supposed to be saved a slot in May 2024 but, going by Disney’s list via The Direct, the movie won’t be released then.

Here is the full list of upcoming movies and when to expect them:

  • A Haunting in Venice – September 15, 2023

  • The Creator – September 29, 2023

  • The Marvels – November 10, 2023

  • Next Goal Wins – November 17, 2023

  • Wish- November 22, 2023

  • The Bikeriders – December 1, 2023

  • Magazine Dreams – December 8, 2023

  • Poor Things- December 8, 2023

  • All of Us Strangers – December 22, 2023

  • Elio – March 1, 2024

  • Snow White – March 22, 2024

  • Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – May 24, 2024

The cast and crew were in the middle of production in London when work had to shut down due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Delays are being enforced across Hollywood with some of the biggest upcoming shows and films postponed until further notice.

While it is hoped the situation will be resolved sooner rather than later, it may be longer than fans think given the most recent failed negotiation.

Even if actors and writers did call off the strikes and went back to work now, it may be a close call to still bring Deadpool 3 to the cinemas for May 2024.

Details around the plot for Deadpool 3 have remained sparse but it is expected to focus a lot on Deadpool’s dynamic with Wolverine.

This will be the first time the pair have appeared on screen together since X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Given the fact this movie didn’t exactly go down well with fans or critics, it is hoped they will be able to redeem themselves in this third Deadpool outing.
