Freddie Mercury’s live vocal games shared by Queen in rare footage | Music | Entertainment

This week’s episode of Queen The Greatest Live looks back at the band’s 1982 Milton Keynes Bowl show and Freddie Mercury’s famous vocal games.

Fans will be familiar with his audience participation Ay-Ohs from Live Aid, but perhaps not all will have seen this footage where the singer announces to his audience “I’m gonna make you sing like Aretha Franklin!”

Freddie once said: “That’s part of my role – I have to win the audience over, otherwise it’s not a successful gig.

“It’s my job to make sure I win them over and make them feel that they’ve had a good time. I’m very frivolous and I like to enjoy myself – and what better way to do it than onstage in front of 300,000 people?”
