Green Day announce new album and tease UK 2024 tour – here’s the clues | Music | Entertainment

The legendary American Idiots, Green Day, just confirmed the release date of their new album.

Saviors will be their 14th studio album, following 2020’s Father of All Motherf*****s.

The record’s release date has been confirmed to be released on January 19, 2024 – but that’s not all.

Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool also dropped their first single from the album: The American Dream Is Killing Me.

This vicious single is aimed at today’s bleak state of society, while the music video takes aim at the zombification of humanity. But, although it was dropped as the record’s first single, it was actually the last song the band recorded for Saviors.

Armstrong said: “As soon we cut it, we said: ‘Okay, that’s going first.'” He added that the track is a “look at the way the traditional American Dream doesn’t work for a lot of people – in fact, it’s hurting a lot of people”. (Via Kerrang)

But there’s more than meets the eye to Green Day’s news… as it has basically been confirmed they’re going on tour in the UK and Europe in the coming months.

Here’s what you need to know:

At the moment, no UK or European tour has been confirmed by Green Day.

However, their official website allows fans to preorder their upcoming album Saviors.

The banner of this page reads: “Preorder Saviors here for presale access to UK and European 2024 Tour Dates.” You can see the screenshot below.

If that isn’t a confirmation… then I don’t know what is.

Suffice it to say, fans are strongly advised to preorder Green Day’s new album, Saviors, from their official website HERE to gain presale access to the as-of-yet unannounced UK and European tour.
