Kate, Princess of Wales and Prince William, both 41, tied the knot on April 29, 2011. They spent the night at Buckingham Palace, before departing to an undisclosed UK location for their honeymoon.
The Princess looked gorgeous in a blue dress from Zara that cost only £49.99 at the time.
This dress is often referred to as the “honeymoon dress”. The first time the Princess of Wales wore it was when she and William left Buckingham Palace for their weekend getaway after their wedding.
The scoop neckline and vertical box pleating on the belted sleeveless dress gave it a unique and beautiful look.
At the time, Kate’s dress had the following description: “Eschewing designer labels, Kate stepped out in a cornflower blue £49.99 Zara dress with £129.99 black patent pumps from LK Bennett (the same pair she wore for her King’s Road shopping spree the day before her wedding), paired with a simple black jacket.”
There was a keyhole closure at the upper back of the dress, which was a lovely feature of Kate’s honeymoon dress.
The colour was more of a Wedgwood blue, which looked lovely on the Princess of Wales, who often wears the colour blue.
Interestingly, Kate still owns this dress, having worn it as recently as 2016.
The Princess opened an EACH charity shop on March 18, 2016, in Holt, where she wore this £49.99 dress from Zara.
At the time, Kate paired the dress with a blue M Missoni coat, which she first began wearing in 2012.
The day after her wedding, Kate wore Greta Pumps from LK Bennett, which the Princess first bought in 2009.
Their description says: “These wedges feature a raffia platform wedge heel and closed-toe black patent upper.”
Kate completed her outfit with a simple black jacket and a complementary black belt.
Other royals who stunned on the first day of their honeymoon include the late Princess Diana, who wore a beautiful pink outfit.
This outfit was created by David Sassoon for Bellville Sassoon, and it was seen at Romsey Station in Hampshire before Diana and Charles left on their honeymoon to Gibraltar on the Royal Yacht Brittania.
Queen Elizabeth was photographed during her honeymoon with Prince Philip at Broadlands, Romsey, Hampshire.
The late Queen accessorised with a Chrysanthemum Brooch, which was a spectacular sapphire and diamond piece.
