Kate Midleton, Meghan Markle and Princess Beatrice named most fashionable royals

According to e-commerce expert William Worship, from Vendula London, Kate, the Princess of Wales is the most fashionable royal in the British Royal Family. To determine this, William looked at monthly Google searches for all British royals, and Kate came out on top. Princess Beatrice also made the top five, which experts claimed may be a “shock to many”.

Kate’s fashion choices received, on average, 7,450 searches per month last year.

Meanwhile, her top fashion moment, or the most Googled, was her wedding dress. More than a decade later, it seems that Britons are still searching for information or pictures of the Sarah Burton-designed, Alexander McQueen gown.

Kate’s dress was a beautiful, lace garment with long sleeves and a huge train.

The bodice was inspired by Victorian-era dresses and was not dissimilar to the corsets of the time. It also featured a V-neckline.

On Kate and Prince William’s wedding day on April 29, 2011, Buckingham Palace shared a statement about the dress.

It read: “Miss Middleton chose British brand Alexander McQueen for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship and the technical construction of clothing.

“Miss Middleton wished for her dress to combine tradition and modernity with the artistic vision that characterizes Alexander McQueen’s work.”

According to William’s research, the second most stylish British royal is the late Princess Diana.

In fourth place was Princess Beatrice. Known for her patterned dresses or bright blazers, Beatrice’s style is not dissimilar to that of Kate’s. The royal also has a penchant for a good trench coat – as does her sister, Eugenie. Beatrice received 630 monthly searches, on average.

The fifth most stylish British royal was Queen Elizabeth II. Nobody can think about the late monarch without recalling her bright, colourful outfits. Queen Elizabeth enjoyed wearing one colour, head-to-toe, and always accessorised with a pearl necklace and matching earrings.

William commented on his research, saying: “Kate Middleton dominated the 2010s and there is no shock she remains, to this day, the most fashionable royal.

“‘Kate Middleton Dress’ alone receives 4,900 Google searches per month, however as a shock to many Princess Beatrice managed to squeeze her way into the top five with even more searches than the late Queen herself.”

Interestingly, after Kate’s wedding dress, Meghan Markle’s wedding dress received 8,100 monthly searches, and Princess Diana’s wedding dress 3,900 searches per month.

Princess Diana’s “revenge dress” also received an impressive 2,100 searches a month, while Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress received 1,400.

“Wedding dresses are bound to stand out among the rest, however, Diana’s ‘revenge dress’ 27 years later still receives 2,100 Google searches per month,” William said.

“This has to make it one of the most iconic royal looks. The ‘revenge dress’ pushed the boundaries of royal fashion with a plunging neckline and form fitting design that broke royal protocol.”
