King Charles’s morning routine involves acrobatics, bagpipes and energy-boosting breakfast | Royal | News

King Charles may be the head of the British monarchy and much of his time is usually filled with public engagements and official work, but there are certain things the royal does to kickstart his day.

From headstands to being woken up by bagpipes and having a healthy, nutrient-rich breakfast, the King appears to have his own morning ritual before he juggles his workload.

The monarch reportedly wakes up to a 179-year-old royal tradition that began with Queen Victoria in 1843 and one that was enjoyed by his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Every morning at 9:00, Pipe Major Paul Burns has been playing the bagpipes at every royal residence the King spends the night in.

His role among other things is to make sure the monarch is awoken by a daily performance that consists of two seven-minute sessions – separated by a minute in between to tune the Scottish instrument.
