Kylie Minogue set to land Las Vegas residency lasting several years | Music | Entertainment

Kylie Minogue is poised to land a Las Vegas residency that could run “for many years” as demand for her recently announced shows has been “off the chart”.

The Aussie pop star has been lined up for a short run of gigs in November and January, but Sin City executives have been impressed by the demand for seats at Voltaire club in The Venetian Resort.

Interest for VIP packages to see the 55-year-old singer, including front-row tables, hotel suites, a backstage tour and elite restaurant offerings, is said to be “overwhelming”.

Ticketmaster will unveil details of available packages on August 7, with prices starting at £2,000 per person.

Casino insiders say Kylie has created an “intimate” 90-minute hit-packed extravaganza within a custom-built £2.34million “couture venue, which captures the “essence of Studio 54” within a cutting-edge private members’ cabaret club.

They add the Spinning Around singer will not just be Voltaire’s opening resident but the club’s “First Lady” over many years in a deal which could be worth tens of millions of dollars.

A Vegas source confirmed: “Kylie has been hands on with Voltaire and this residency for three years with a view to making it a long-term home.

“The demand is insane and we could pack out the place every night. The November to January dates are just a teaser – there are a lot more shows coming.

“There is a desire to have Kylie play in blocks of shows several times a year for many years to come. She has the fan base, talent and legacy to be as renowned as Celine Dion in this town.”

Speaking at last week’s launch for her November shows, Kylie said: “I am looking forward to my time in Vegas primarily to create this experience, to be able to deliver fun and this dream-like space.”

Venetian executive Michael Gruber added: “Kylie represents great music, a fun time and elevates the experience. She is couture. Her spirit is absolutely infectious.

“She’s at the top of her game, which makes this a truly special moment. She does bring a wide open crowd to be comfortable together and that’s very important.”

Kylie, who shot to fame in Aussie soap Neighbours in the 1980s and has since sold more than 80 million records worldwide, will open her Vegas shows on November 3 with just 1,000 tickets on sale per night.
