Lady Kitty Spencer’s unique £330,000 engagement ring is ‘en vogue’ – pictures

Lady Kitty Spencer, who turned 32 on Wednesday, wed South Africa-born millionaire Michael Lewis, 63, at the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, a stunning country mansion with views towards Rome, on July 24, 2021.  To tie the knot, Lady Kitty donned a Victorian-era-inspired gown with a high neck and long, puffed sleeves.

As a global ambassador for Italian luxury powerhouse Dolce & Gabbana, Lady Kitty enlisted help from the label to create her wedding gown, on top of four specially designed dresses for the evening events.

But her engagement ring is even more exciting and luxurious. Kyron Keogh, the co-founder of ROX Diamonds & Thrills, spoke to Express.co.uk about the unique design.

He said: “Lady Kitty Spencer’s platinum engagement ring is an emerald cut diamond surrounded by a halo of rubies. The emerald cut diamond looks like it is 3.50-4.00 carats and a quality ring like this could retail between £250,000 and £330,000.

“We’ve seen a huge demand for Emerald Cut engagement rings over the last year. They’re a popular choice for those that have timeless style.

“The Royal Family often wear engagement rings with different coloured precious stones. Fergie’s engagement ring is a ruby on a gold band with a halo of white diamonds for instance whilst Kate Middleton wears Princess Diana’s iconic sapphire engagement ring.”

Daena Borrowman, the PR, Social and Digital Marketing Manager at jewellerybox also commented on Lady Kitty Spencer’s engagement ring.

She suggested: “Lady Kitty Spencer has been sporting numerous diamond rings since her engagement. The first is an emerald-cut diamond eternity ring.

“It features around 30 carats of numerous flawless diamonds set around the entire band. The presence of all the emerald-cut diamonds gives the ring a timeless, geometrical look.

She opined: “Kitty’s ring is most similar to the Queen Consort’s ring, which is a large emerald cut diamond centre stone with three baguette diamonds on either side set on a platinum band.

“Kitty’s ring is also similar to Queen Letizia of Spain, who also bucked tradition and opted for an eternity ring rather than a solitaire style.”

The expert added: “As a Bulgari rep, she’s had the opportunity to wear a number of stunning rings recently, possibly as a misdirection.

“At Milan Fashion week she wore a stunning emerald cut diamond with a baguette ruby halo and many assumed this was her engagement ring.

“It also beautifully matched her red gown. If the rumour mill is to be believed her South African fiancé Michael Lewis bucked the traditional trends and went for an eternity ring as an engagement band.

“It is a platinum full eternity band set with multiple emeralds, cut D-F, the colour most likely flawless, and diamonds (one to 1.5ct each) totalling around 30cts. Her Dolce & Gabbana campaigns and red carpet outfits lean more towards the feminine, floral with intricate detailing.

“To match with that, I would have said the more delicate and decorative emerald shape with the ruby halo would be more her style. For this reason, I imagine the choice of angular clean lines from the emerald shape eternity is much more Michael’s style.

“This is also in keeping with South African trends for 2022 that suggest ‘stronger, bolder and more robust settings’ are en vogue in the Southern Hemisphere.”
