Terrified dog found by road given second chance at happiness

A woman has been flooded with praise after saving a small abandoned dog from the side of the road and giving her a second chance at happiness.

The dog, who has been named Paula, was discovered by a member of the public looking visibly distressed after being left to fend for herself.

The rescue was documented in a viral TikTok posted from the account Mark Davies, which has garnered more than seven million views to date.

The pup was reluctant to trust her helper at first, but with patience, the good samaritan was able to coax the dog to the safety of her van.

In a follow-up video, she opened up about the heartbreaking encounter and gave viewers an update on Paula’s current whereabouts.

“She was just coming from nowhere. I just put her hand down for her to see that she is safe and she can come to me,” explained the woman.

“The way she reacted, oh my god… I felt so much pity for her. Suddenly a car was coming, so I had to grab her and pitch her up in the car.

“For me, it was so emotional, she was all alone, she was having trauma. I think it was the first time for her being inside.”

Since settling into her new home, the dog has enjoyed all the comforts a family has to offer and has seen her confidence grow by leaps and bounds.

“When Paula met my other dogs, she just blossomed… Paula started to give kisses immediately for the next two days to the other dogs,” noted her rescuer.

“Just as though she was saying: ‘You are my friend, I love you’. And then she never stopped.

“Now she is not afraid anymore, and when she is so happy she goes running, you cannot see her, just like the light, added the rescuer. She needs an active family.”

The woman was flooded with praise for her rescue efforts, with many thanking her in the comment section of the clip.

“He wanted to trust but was terrified after being let down. So sad – thank you,” wrote one appreciative commentator.

“So scared but so desperate for companionship,” wrote another, while a third quipped: God bless you for saving this innocent little soul.”
