Matteo Bocelli teams up with Ed Sheeran on beautiful new single released today | Music | Entertainment

Andrea Bocelli’s son has been following in his father’s footsteps for the last five years, ever since the pair released their duet Fall on Me.

Matteo Bocelli has been touring on and off with the maestro and sister Virginia Bocelli, after the three released a Christmas album last December.

And now the 25-year-old is gearing up to go solo with his debut album Matteo, set for release on September 22.

In the meantime, the rising star has put out a few singles with his latest released today alongside a music video filmed at Jamaica Beach on Italy’s Lake Garda.

Chasing Stars was co-written by Ed Sheeran and his brother Matthew and is a song about family and finding oneself.

Matteo said: “Like the Sheeran brothers, I grew up in a family where music was very appreciated. Ed and Matthew wrote the song, but it seems like they wrote it for me. I really feel privileged to be the first to record it.

“I have always been a huge fan of Ed and never could have imagined that I’d have a piece of his work on my first album. It is a memory I will cherish forever. I hope you guys enjoy this song as much as I do.”

Ed Sheeran himself said: “Chasing Stars was written by me and my brother Matthew about our father, and how he was supportive to us when we were younger with our music.

“I love the finished version with Matteo, he’s such a talent. I hope everyone else enjoys it!”

Matteo Bocelli will begin his first headline tour in September, which will include performing at the London Palladium on October 3 and tickets can be booked here.
