‘Most iconic royal outfit’ named and Kate Middleton didn’t wear it

The Royal Family scrub up incredibly well, with royal women often sporting showstopping jewels and the most elaborate gowns known to man.

Joe Teasdale, founder of Adore Fashion, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about the royal outfit which rocked the world – and according to the expert, it wasn’t one of Kate, Princess of Wales’ jaw-dropping gowns.

Joe told Express.co.uk: “The Royal Family have been setting trends and making fashion statements for centuries, and it’s always exciting to see what they’ll wear next.

“But if I had to choose the most iconic royal outfit of all time, there’s no doubt in my mind that it would be Princess Diana’s wedding dress.”

The expert suggested that the Princess’ dress was not only stunning to look at, it encapsulated the essence of the royal herself.

Joe explained: “Designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, Princess Diana’s wedding dress was a masterpiece of craftsmanship and elegance.

“Made of ivory silk taffeta and antique lace, it had a 25-foot train and was adorned with thousands of pearls and sequins.”

There were plenty of beautiful and sentimental details in the dress, including an 18-karat gold horseshoe sown in for good luck, a square of Carrickmacross lace which had belonged to Queen Mary, and a little blue bow sown into the waistband.

According to the fashion expert, the dress has transcended time, becoming an emblem of the beloved People’s Princess.

“The dress was so stunning that it has become a symbol of Princess Diana’s beauty and grace, and it’s still remembered as one of the most iconic bridal gowns of all time.

“What made Princess Diana’s wedding dress so special was not just its beauty, but also the message it conveyed.

“Princess Diana’s dress symbolises hope, purity, and love. It was a statement of her commitment to her husband and to the British people, and it captured the hearts of millions around the world.”

While Diana’s death rocked the world, the “legacy of her wedding dress still lives on today”, inspiring the work of designers everywhere.

Indeed, its “timeless design continues to be referenced in modern fashion”.

“From wedding dresses to red carpet looks, the influence of Diana’s iconic dress can be seen in collections from top designers around the world.

“The combination of its delicate lace, its full skirt, and its intricate details are reminders of the beauty and grace that Diana embodied.

“Every time we see a dress that echoes the silhouette of Princess Diana’s gown, we are reminded of the power and grace that she brought to the world.”
