Next Bond – World’s Top 10 favourites for new 007 unveiled – Idris Elba second | Films | Entertainment

There have been six official James Bond stars to date over the last 61 years of the franchise.

The last round of new 007 auditions took place in 2005 when Daniel Craig beat Henry Cavill to the role in Casino Royale.

Fans have their favourites and there are plenty of runners and riders in the bookies’ odds from Tom Hardy to Idris Elba.

As it stands Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the current frontrunner there will chances around 2-1.

However, new worldwide research found that he’s only fourth favourite among the global public to take up the Licence to Kill next.

Sporting Post has taken the biggest names associated with next 007 speculation and looked at their search demand via Google.

Last week Express.co.uk reported that Henry Cavill was the favourite among UK fans here, but incredibly he’s also the worldwide choice for fans globally.

Having almost been cast as Bond last time around, he’s certainly a fan favourite, but some wonder if the fact he’s turned 40 and has starred in other spy franchises may be to his disadvantage.

Nevertheless, the global public would still love to see him follow Craig, as they would the other members of the Top 10.

After Cavill is Idris Elba, followed by Tom Hardy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and James Norton.

Meanwhile behind them in global interest as Bond are Regé-Jean Page, Tom Holland, Cillian Murphy, Richard Madden and Luke Evans.

It’s been almost two years since No Time To Die released so here’s hoping there’s some official news soon.
