Queen Camilla dons £787 blue dress and her favourite necklace in London

Queen Camilla opted for a smart dress today as she joined members of a research team at a specialist laboratory in London.

The royal stayed true to her signature style for the occasion, wearing a cobalt blue linen shirt dress by Samantha Sung Monroe.

Advertised as the “Patricia Shirtdress”, the garment features an a-line pleated skirt, three-quarter length sleeves, a removable belt, and side seam pockets.

Though it appears to be a simple check design, the dress flatters the royal’s figure and complexion.

Teamed with what appeared to be her new favourite shoes and her sentimental gold-plated necklace, Camilla looked at ease as she layered the £787 dress with a white laboratory coat.

The dress had a fuller skirt than those that the Queen Consort usually wears, though the smart shirt cut was true to her trademark fashion.

Camilla paired the bold printed dress with a pair of bespoke cleated shoes by one of her favourite designers, Eliot Zed.

Known as the “Gladys” suede pumps (£275), the low heels are made with a rubber sole and suede body in a light beige shade.

Just days ago, the Queen Consort stepped out in a very similar outfit when she visited Poundbury, Dorset.

Known to layer up her jewellery on a daily basis, Camilla teamed the outfit with one of her most sentimental necklaces.

The gold-plated pendant style is often worn by the royal and is known for its heartfelt meaning.

Positioned in the centre of the gold pendant is a small red ruby – Camilla’s birthstone.

Elsewhere on the necklace a sweet transcription of five of her grandchildren’s initials can be seen dotted around to form a circle.

In keeping with her blue outfit, the 75-year-old also wore her “Apollo” mini blue topaz and diamond pendant necklace in yellow gold.

Teamed with a pair of Kiki McDonough pearl earrings, which are regarded as the royal’s “every day” jewels, Camilla finished the look with her VanCleef & Arpels Alhambra five Motifs bracelet.
