Queen Camilla, 76, wears outfits designed by Fiona Clare, Anna Valentine and Bruce Oldfield, with a style that has evolved over time.
Sara Parker Bowles, who was previously married to Camilla’s son Tom, appeared on Lorraine on Thursday where she discussed the Queen’s taste in fashion.
Ms Parker Bowles works as a fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar and founded Wardrobe Revivals in 2022.
When asked by Christine Lampard if the Queen’s style has “changed”, Ms Parker Bowles agreed, saying: “I think she’s having fun with it and I think that really shows.
“It’s evolved naturally – she is the perfect example of someone who’s eased into their style and feels confident and sticks to what they know and I think that’s a really good way to go.”
The fashion editor gave her opinion on what colours and outfits look the best on Queen Camilla.
Ms Parker Bowles opined: “I love it when she wears black. I think she looks amazing in all black.
“I also think she looked incredible in her Dior suit at Ascot earlier this year – that was a real winner for me.”
Apart from the obvious occasions when Camilla would have worn all black, such as funerals and mourning services, the Queen frequently wore the colour before marrying into the Royal Family.
One such occasion was in 1995 when she stepped out at a party at The Ritz wearing an off-the-shoulder black midi dress.
Many at the time suspected this to be a replica of Princess Diana’s Christina Stambolian black dress that she wore a year before at the Serpentine Gallery.
Diana supposedly wore this dress as her “revenge” after her then-husband King Charles admitted his infidelity in an interview with Jonathan Dimbleby.
Queen Camilla additionally wore a floor-length black gown for King Charles’s 50th birthday in 1998.
Even as a working royal Camilla has looked stunning in black. For instance, in October 2020, the Queen donned a pinafore dress by Fiona Clare.
She paired it with a leopard print mask, a white silk balloon-sleeve shirt, a cape, and below-the-knee suede boots to complete the ensemble.
The entire outfit looked gorgeous and Camilla looked like she belonged on the pages of a fashion magazine.
Camilla fastened a diamond, ruby, and sapphire horseshoe onto her dress, which was a tribute to one of King Edward VII’s racehorses.
