Rajwa Al Saif wears flats at her royal wedding but bridal gown is ‘pure fairy tale’

Rajwa Al Saif married Queen Rania’s son, Prince Al-Hussein of Jordan, wearing a beautiful Elie Saab wedding gown.

The stunning wedding dress featured a draped bodice, long sleeves and a long train. The royal donned a delicately embroidered veil, a sparkling tiara, diamond earrings and opted for flat shoes.

Royal fans took to social media to share their thoughts and many were surprised by the bride’s choice of footwear.

On Instagram, @martinchi94 commented: “Love the dress. That embroidered veil is stunning. But not a fan of those flats.”

Royal watcher @nikkibakershouldbewriting commented: “Girl wore flats!!! Good for her!” and @arianna.galati commented: “Loved the shoe choice.

“And the tiara and the diamond earrings. The dress and the veil are pure fairytale. And we needed it!”

Many opined that Rajwa was a “gorgeous bride” and @natalia_babou suggested: “Sheā€™s taller than her husband so understandably she wore flats.”

Another royal fan commented: “Absolutely breathtaking! The new Crown Princess has a stunning figure,” and an Instagram user added: “Love this! She looks stunning. And good for wearing flats. No rule against it. The view of the back is spectacular.”

Queen Rania of Jordan looked “absolutely gorgeous” at her son’s wedding donning an elegant black Dior floor-length gown.

The wedding ceremony took place at Zahran Royal Palace, in Jordan, and was followed by a reception at the Palace Gardens.

Kate and William, Prince and Princess of Wales, also attended the event and Kate chose a pinkĀ Elie Saab gown from the AW17 RTW collection.

The Zahran Palace has been the site of other royal weddings including King Abdullah II’s and Queen Rania’s as well as his father’s, the late King Hussein bin Talal.

Earlier this month, Queen Rania hosted a Henna party for her daughter-in-law at the Palace and Rajwa looked gorgeous inĀ a white gown with gold embroidery.

The Henna party is part of the wedding celebrations in Jordan, when the bride gets henna paint applied to her hands and other parts of her body.

Rajwa Al Saif, who is now the next Queen of Jordan, studied at Syracuse University, in New York, and worked at an architecture firm in Los Angeles. Rajwa and Prince Hussein met through a mutual friend, as the young Prince revealed earlier this year, according to Vogue Arabia.

He explained: “I met Rajwa through an old friend from school. I consider myself lucky because it is not every day you meet someone like Rajwa.”
