With over 23.9 million views this week on Netflix, Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire has defied the critics’ devastating reviews as Zack Snyder fans showed up for his sci-fi blockbuster.
The director’s passion project, which is Global No 1 movie on the streaming service, may have only 25 per cent positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s matched by a 63 per cent audience score.
The second half of Snyder’s epic, based on Star Wars and Seven Samurai, is set to arrive on Netflix in the Spring and now the first teaser trailer has landed.
The official synopsis reads: “Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle, the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.
