Star Wars Episode X – When is Rey Skywalker’s new movie set? | Films | Entertainment

Star Wars fans were left ecstatic earlier this month at the annual Star Wars Celebration, which was held in London. The monumental event saw the announcement of a number of new, upcoming films – including a new movie starring Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker. Considering she was the most recent protagonist of the series, this upcoming movie is expected to be called Star Wars Episode X (following Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker). Although only a few details have been given so far, the timeline has been confirmed by Disney and Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy.

Kennedy went on to add: “There’s a lot of discussion around: ‘Who are the Jedi? What are they doing? What’s the state of the galaxy?'”

As fans will recall, at the end of The Rise of Skywalker, the galaxy was left in a state of disrepair, with many issues throughout many planets – however, Emperor Palpatine was killed off, so they were certainly left safe.

“She’s attempting to rebuild the Jedi Order,” Kennedy continued. “Based on the [Ancient Jedi Text] books, based on what she promised Luke, so that’s where we’re going.”

Although, that begs the question: Will fans see the legendary Luke Skywalker in the upcoming Episode X (if it even has that mighty title).

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like good news for the die-hard fans of Luke Skywalker.

Kennedy confessed: “I don’t know if we’ll spend a lot of time in flashbacks or [on] Force ghosts or things like that.”

With that said, she added: “But, certainly, the spirit of what he [Luke Skywalker] represents to her [Rey Skywalker] is going to be significant.”

Rey Skywalker’s return announcement at Star Wars Celebration was followed by British actor Daisy Ridley hitting the stage to discuss her triumphant comeback.

After years of being outside of the Star Wars franchise, she gratefully bowed in front of the ExCel Centre’s audience before thanking them for coming.

She added: “I am very thrilled to be continuing this journey.”

Daisy was last seen in The Rise of Skywalker, when she defeated Palpatine and was reunited with the Resistance.
