Brutal new dating trend known as getting ‘zombied’ is worse than ‘ghosting’

A TikTok trend known as getting “zombied” is causing women online to complain in large numbers.

TikToker Mariel is one of the many women taking to the platform to highlight the trend.

She shared with her 255K followers: “Girl, you’re being ghosted? I’m being zombied.”

Mariel explained: “It’s like ghosting, but he comes back from the dead after a couple of months and hits you up.”

The video has clearly struck and chord with modern daters, as it’s been viewed over 1.5M times and has attracted 151,100 likes.

The content creator added in a follow-up video that dating in New York City is like a zombie apocalypse “mixed with the ‘Thriller’ music video.”

She told her amused followers: “All these boys are tap dancing around commitment.”

Other women jumped into the comments to complain about their own experiences with ghosting.

One Elle Hull wrote: “Have you ever noticed that they all zombie you at the same time? Like why are four guys from my past all hitting me up on the same day???”

Mariana wrote: “Mine has a Jesus Christ complex, he comes back every three days.”

A user named Joeyfromthe7C said: “It’s because the girl he thought was better than you realized he’s terrible and ghosted him!”

But at least one commenter didn’t seem to understand what the big deal was. ZenRebel wrote: “Seriously!?!? So funny, it sounds like good old-fashioned ‘dating’ – no commitment, playing the field. Being SINGLE.”

The dating world can certainly be a volatile and hostile environment. One woman, who is a proud “gold digger” has shared her dating tips to help other women out.

Twenty-four-year-old Ella Freimann from Miami advocates that women should never split the bill with men and that men should consider women to be “investments”.
