The King’s coronation will be one of the major TV moments of 2023, with cameras ready to capture every second of the pomp and ceremony.
On Sky News, coronation day coverage will kick off at 6am on Saturday 6 May.
Here are all the details you’ll need to watch the coronation on TV – from what channel to tune in to, to the key timings you need to be aware of on the day.
What is the schedule for the day?
Kay Burley will be live from Westminster Abbey as the troops who will take part in the coronation start to take up their positions.
From 9am, Anna Botting will be live from Buckingham Palace in the build-up to the ceremony, including the procession to Westminster Abbey.
The ceremony will start at 11am, followed by the procession back to Buckingham Palace which begins at around 1pm.
The royal family are expected on the palace balcony in the early afternoon for the fly-past, which will be broadcast live.
As the day draws to a close, Mark Austin will reflect on the proceedings from Buckingham Palace between 5-8pm.
From 8-9pm, Gillian Joseph will look at highlights and how the day was marked around the country, followed by a special coronation highlights hour between 9-10pm.
What channels will coronation coverage be on?
Sky News is available free of charge via Freeview channel 233, Sky channel 501, Virgin 603 and BT 313.
You can also stream for free on the Sky News website or app and on the Sky News YouTube channel.
Ad breaks will be removed between 9am-3pm on Sky News so you won’t miss a moment of the coronation.

How can I watch the coronation in Ultra HD?
Sky customers can watch the coronation in the clarity of Ultra HD for free on Sky News channel 501 and on Sky Showcase channel 106 (7am-3pm).
The Ultra HD broadcast will be available to those watching on Sky Glass or Sky Q via the red button.
If you’re not a Sky customer you can still watch in Ultra HD if you have a compatible TV – you’ll just need to watch via the Sky News YouTube channel.
What else is planned for TV?
A special 30-minute documentary, King Charles: My King, will explore public opinion towards the monarchy and look at the challenges that may lie ahead for Charles.
Niall Paterson will present the documentary, which will air on Sky News on Sunday 30 April at 8pm.
