Jackass star Steve-O spoken to by police after jumping off London’s Tower Bridge | Ents & Arts News

Jackass star Steve-O was spoken to by police officers after jumping off Tower Bridge in London as part of a stunt to promote his TV show.

Footage showed the 49-year-old count to three before jumping off the side of the London landmark on Thursday while holding a Union Jack umbrella and wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “I love London”.

After coming out of the River Thames the star was swiftly detained by City of London Police on Thursday.

Chief Inspector Rob Bell said: “Officers were called to Tower Bridge at 4.28pm to reports of a person in the water close to Tower Bridge.”

After being “spoken to by officers” Steve-O, whose real name is Stephen Glover, was let go according to TMZ.

In another incident, the star illegally climbed on top of a double-decker London bus, before being photographed jumping on the roof whilst holding a Union Jack.

Posting the images on Instagram, Steve-O wrote: “I asked for a professional photographer in London to shoot me illegally climbing onto the roof of a big, red double-decker bus.

“The bus driver was really cool about the surprise, too – I promised him we would obscure anything identifiable about him or his individual bus! What a day I had yesterday.”

The stunts coincide with the release of Steve-O’s third comedy special.

Away from the Jackass franchise – which sees the cast take part in a variety of daredevil stunts – the star has taken part in numerous public stunts.

In 2015 he was arrested and faced criminal charges after climbing a crane 30m (100ft) high, in a protest against SeaWorld.

Emergency crews were called to a construction site in Hollywood after the star inflated a killer whale balloon with “SeaWorld Sucks” written on it after reaching the top.
