Kate and William fiercely dedicated to giving Prince George a ‘pretty happy’ childhood | Royal | News

Princess Kate and Prince William will be getting ready to celebrate Prince George’s birthday next weekend, as the future king will turn 10 on July 22.

Despite George’s young age, he has a big responsibility on his shoulders growing up as the future Monarch of Great Britain and the worldwide renown that comes with it.

An inside source has explained Kate has been able to give George and his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis normal childhoods away from the spotlight, which is something William is very thankful for.

In an interview with People Magazine, one palace insider explained: “Those children look pretty happy with life, a lot of it is the stabilizing normality Kate brings — and that’s how she grew up. William absolutely loves it.”

Kate is often spotted doing normal everyday tasks such as shopping in local supermarkets or picking up her children from school. Despite her and William’s busy schedules attending royal engagements, both parents also try to be there in the evenings

George is also the first heir to the throne in generations to not be sent away to boarding school for his primary education, attending Lambrook School alongside his younger siblings and returning home to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor every day.

One source close to the royal household has said that Kate and Wiliam “consciously set out to achieve a sense of normality” for their children.

They also suggested that both Queen Elizabeth and now King Charles have given the royal couple permission to focus more on raising their family rather than their royal duties.

Royal biographer Robert Lacey has claimed to People Magazine that George was given a formal talk about his future role as King in 2020, but it was a “controlled moment of [Kate and William’s] choice”

Mr. Lacey added that both parents wish to protect George because of “William’s unhappiness at the haphazard fashion in which the whole business of his royal destiny had buzzed around his head from the start.”

However, both Kate and William have been aware of the pressure George might feel growing up, but have been able to carefully balance preparing him for his role as King while letting him have a normal childhood.
